Pairs of photographs of views of Bridge Street in St Ives taken around 100 years apart

Bridge Street as it was in 2002
Bridge Street used to be the main road into the town, it has now been relieved of it's traffic by the Harrison Way By-Pass
The tree on the left has gone but the remainder of the view is pretty much the same
In use as a Petrol Station in 1909
But now (2005) as the West End DIY store
Bridge Street, the old building was late 17th or early 18th Century. Look carefully at the corner stone-work and upper windows, the shell of the building remains although the pitched roof has gone. Prior to being used by West End DIY this building used to be the town's Woolworths Store. Woolworths subsequently moved to premises in Crown Street at the north end of Bridge Street.
