Hospice at Home |
We are a registered charity providing volunteer support to clients suffering from life limiting and terminal illness, being cared for in their own homes.
Hospice at Home Volunteers visit clients at home and provide practical, social and emotional support. The support the volunteers provide will depend on the individual’s need but may include such things as;
We do not replace or take over the care or support provided by the statutory services, nor do we provide direct personal nursing care.
We do not limit the support we provide it may be from a single visit to one or more years. Most clients are visited once a week or once a fortnight.
“Keep up good work, really enjoy my visits”
“Thank you, for helping me get my confidence back”
Our Volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and span the age spectrum. A programme of initial preparation is given to all volunteers before being allocated a client.
Each volunteer is interviewed to ensure both an understanding of the service and suitability for being a volunteer.
All volunteers are CRB checked and on going training is provided.
To date we have provided support to seventy three clients and we have seventeen volunteers.
