Our Society serves the needs of over 450 registered Blind and Partially Sighted members in the Huntingdonshire County area. Our boundaries cover Huntingdon, St. Ives, St. Neots, Ramsey and surrounding areas as far as Peterborough.

A voluntary Executive Committee determines the Society policy , and they support a part-time Secretary (Mrs. Rosemary Edwards) and three part-time paid Outreach Workers who in turn organize a team of voluntary support workers. Mrs. Carol Abell is the Outreach Worker for the North of the County, Mrs. Dorothy Northwood for the South of the County and Mrs. Jean Rawlings is the coordinator, based at St. Mary's Street.

The Outreach Workers provide individual help to members in their own homes. They also organize 4 Clubs in the area, which are run on a monthly basis, there are clubs in Ramsey, St. Ives, Huntingdon and St. Neots.

A separate fundraising committee exists with a part-time Secretary, Mrs. Helen Bosworth, to provide resources and ensure that staff can devote maximum time to the day to day needs of our members.

The Society holds coffee mornings on the first Wednesday of the month from May through to September between 10am and 1pm. These are held at our premises in St. Mary's Street, Huntingdon. and everyone is welcome. We have a calendar of fund-raising events including a midsummer lunch on June 17th and a stall at the Great Gransden Show in September. Our premises at St. Mary's Street, Huntingdon, house our shop and resource center where members are always welcome to drop in. the shop is a retail outlet for goods made by some members and also supplies a comprehensive range of aids and equipment for our members. The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm.

The Society welcomes gifts, donations and active participation in its activities and, like most such groups, are always seeking volunteers.
