The Thicket is a small area of ancient woodland along the north bank of the River Great Ouse between St Ives and Houghton. There are signs that the woodland was once managed, or coppiced, at some time in its past. Access is via the rough footpath, between the town of St Ives and the village of Houghton, that bisects the woodland area but be warned it can get muddy and very slippery during wet weather.
