On any visit to the Raptor Foundation it is well worth making sure you stay for one of the flying displays when a selection of the resident birds are put through their paces.

The raptors display to the lure, a bag on the end of a strong line, or to the gauntlet. When you see the claws you'll understand why.

|
You will be treated to an aerial ballet with some of the birds attaining some amazing speeds as the picture below will testify. I gather it was doing about 70 m.p.h!

Oh yes! bring fast film if you are going to take pictures of the display but if you have don't have a telephoto lens don't worry because most of the display is right in front of you.
