One of our favourites, this enormous American Grey Back Vulture, sits on a log with a "Welly Boot" for company. He's not exactly on his own but the large hole in the boot will testify that he can be a little difficult to handle. The Foundation hope to have him flying in the display soon, now that will be an impressive sight.
Although there is a large number of raptors in the aviaries around the centre which makes photography a but of a challenge
It will not prevent you from getting up close and personal with the raptors, but remember to keep your fingers to yourself although this native owl is fast asleep!
there are also a good number out in the fresh air
